Christmas ’13 Part 1 – Our First Holiday ‘Concert’

‘lil q had her first holiday concert on Friday. Yes, I’m one of those parents who took off work early to be there and to film it. She walked in with her class, looked around but couldn’t see us.  I snapped a few pictures:

Then made sure she saw me. If smiles could light up a room, hers and mine would have lit up the state – and possible the entire east coast. She launched herself at me and then sat in my lap while the toddler class did their song. Then it was time for the 2 year olds to do their part.  The first song was cute, everyone had their part in decorating the class tree:

After that – they all got up to sing and dance – I have to say, this is going to be a favorite for me for years to come.

After singing and dancing, we sat down for pizza, chips, cookies, and punch. Seriously, could their be a less healthy snack than that? Being the super contentious parents we are, we limited her to as much as she wanted. It wasn’t Christmas, but if felt like it to us.

Well, it took her a little time to get into the swing of things, but I can just imagine you standing there with a HUGE grin on your face…proud Papa taking a video of his little princess, these things are priceless!! Just as I used to do when James was at primary school and the carol concert came around every Christmas…it doesn’t last long unfortunately…the kids grow up and we get too busy, but we have lots of pics of him when he was small…those times will never disappear…wipes tear away. Thanks Andy. x

Bev – I know what you mean by it doesn’t last. So when Mike asked if I was going, I didn’t hesitate to say yes. He wasn’t sure he wanted to go, but he was so glad he did. Yes I was grinning like a fool, but there is something infectious about a group of two year olds having fun like that. I dare anyone to be grumpy – even a curmudgeon like me. 🙂

Funny thing is that when I was recording it, I only had eyes for her, it was only after I got the chance to watch it that I got to see how cute the other kids were too. But yeah, they were all so cute, very glad I got off work to be there. 🙂

My 30 year old isn’t cute like that anymore, but her baby is! That is the next fun step!

Haha, don’t let her hear she isn’t that cute anymore. I’ve got a few years before grandparenthood – so I’ll take your word for it. 🙂

She ‘jingle belled around the house for days after this. Was too cute for words. 🙂 You may miss this part, but how about the 4 times waking up at 3 am on a work night? Bet you don’t miss those. 😛 Everything is a trade off.

Was it just me or did you want to take that Christmas down because lil ‘q kept stopping behind it! They were all cute, but have to admit she was the best at the jingle horse. Loved it!

Yeah, well I didn’t get the best angle, other parents beat me to the good spots LOL But yes, That was where she did most of her dancing too. :/

  6. […] included. For me, 2014 was an especially eventful and change filled year. The difference between a two-year-old and three-year-old child is astounding. (Click the links to see Christmas Concert videos from 2013 […]
